British troops are being sent to war without proper training due to shortages in vital equipment, Army reports reveal.
Soldiers preparing for battle in Afghanistan are using old weapons, communications and body armour.
Documents seen by the Sunday Mirror show that officers have written to top brass with a “shopping list” demanding vital equipment be made available.

A lieutenant colonel of the Household Cavalry complained that one company were deployed before their training was finished – skipping a longrange shooting exercise.
One commander wrote a report titled “The Shopping List” demanding more weapons for training.
